Just yesterday DD was discovered to have lice. Yuk, yuk, and more yuk. So I was researching on the internet to see what ideas were out there to get rid of it and to prevent it in the future. Since I am still bored, I thought I would post this thread here to see what SDers thought.
It is very common for little ones to get it in the school and sports environment. What do you do?
Of course I expect there will be all kinds of troll like responses....
I already used Nix stuff on her, combed and washed all the bed sheets and blankets in hot water (of course I do that every two weeks anyway). Today I picked up a Tea Tree oil shampoo as I read that was supposed to deter the little critters. My plan is to wash her hair more this week with that tea tree shampoo and comb through with a lice comb I got at Wags.
Appreciate your thoughts and even funny troll like comments!
Without reading all the responses, I just heard on the radio the other day about "lice" and they were saying to really get rid of it; call your pediatrician and/or family doctor - tell them your DD has lice - and they will prescribe a medication which will take care of it once and for all. You will go through washing everything in hot water, treating her with Nix, and all that other crap; but apparently this prescription medication does the trick immediately; from what they who had personal experience with this; were saying.
