so they are protesting.... sounds like its part of the freedom we have in america

cause next door to me we have a group of Tea Partiers protesting how high stupid taxes are, when basically that is not true in any sense

Certainly that is, in part, true, although the Koran seems to have more restrictions - however, Christians that take such rigorous interpretations of the bible are very hard to come by today, whereas hardline muslims are abound.

I think if you look closely you'll find that the majority of those hardline Muslims are in third world countries. They're hateful and desperate mostly because they're poor and oppressed by their governments - governments who use religion to direct their hate at us, instead of at them, where it belongs.

On the other hand, in the West you'll find far fewer religious radicals. You'll still hear occasionally of the abortion clinic bombers or subway bombers, but these people are generally few and far between. They also don't have the support of the general populace. You'd find very few Christians or Muslims in the United States that take an extremely strict literal interpretation of their holy books.

Which, in itself, is a pretty silly state of affairs. They've softened their outlooks on their own religions, despite the teachings of their holy books, to better fit into society. One wonders why, if it's that fluid, they don't just abandon it all together.

How convenient that there's a proper "perspective" through which to view all the crazy shit the bible says. Except, of course, for the crazy shit you still agree with.

That's easy to do for anyone who's actually bothered to study the bible. What God and Jesus commands is law. What man says is open to interpretation.
