The first time I bought any music CDs, I bought a few at together, but I believe one of them was Heart's self-titled album (which like a lot of the early CDs was a bit harsh, at least when it was first released--I imagine they tamed it down in later pressings).
I still have the first commercially produced CD-ROM drive, also from 1985, the Philips CM-100:

Looks like you can still get DOS drivers for it, but I don't think it's likely to be supported under Windows 8.
