Do you think you could use the rebate from Newegg and buy from Amazon? That would make it an even sweeter deal because Amazon has it listed at 289.99 - 30 MIR = 259.99.

The XFX Double D 7950 is a pile. Runs way to hot. We are talking 90c or more, even with the fans running at 100% (sounding like a jet engine). Pretty bad overclocker also. Spend a little more and get a quality 7950.

As a pure value proposition, it looks like the HIS 7870 at $200 AR is a better deal. Any thoughts on that?

Look at # of stream processors, 7950 is much higher, as well as 3GB vs 2GB.
One big drawback with HIS Ice is card is too long, it force the removal of 3.5 bracket in a normal case, where will your Hard Drive or SSD go?

i was talking about the diamond 7970 deal that was posted couple of days ago. A i thought the card for $330 was a good deal and was asking since this one is a bit cheaper.
