The only people who even knew about it before the preorders "sold out" were gamers who intently follow game news and flippers.

Yep. Bestbuy recently oversold pre-orders... This is going to be the 'it' item this Holiday season. It's been 7 years since a new home console released- Resellers are going to make a killing this holiday season.

And the Deluxe consoles are in very limited supply.

The timing of the release is such that it's early for holiday season yet just late enough to create a frenzy. Same as with the original Wii. I hate Nintendo for doing this. I did preorder mine at BestBuy but if I was too late I'd just wait until they are generally available - screw the hype, it's not worth it.

sadly I can see this new wii selling this holiday season for 2-5x retail price on ebay. I say if it follows the trend the original wii did, most will sit collecting dust and settle for half retail price in a year LOL. I know I was one of the few that pre-orderd the wii for my daughter for xmas when it first came out. We played it maybe about 3 months then it sat collecting dust. Same thing with the kinnect. And the fact that there usually isnt any good release titles, Ill wait a while before jumping on this wii-u bandwagon

Definitely suspicious now that it lists for $399.99...I don't think this is legit at all.

I placed an order shortly after OP posted and they just mailed this update, heh.

Yeah, this seller isn't even an authorized seller of Nintendo. If you go on Nintendo's website, this seller isn't even listed, which means that it probably isn't legit and won't get the Wii U through the proper Nintendo channels.

The only listed authorized preorder sellers are Walmart, GameStop, BestBuy, Toysrus, Target, Sears, and Kmart.

Reminds me of the Leapfrog market. Just wait a few months after the holidays and you'll pick one up easily. Save even more and get a used one. Wait 8 more months and you'll find them on Cowboom's firesale

Basically, don't give in to these resellers and flippers... they want you to be desperate.
