It's a great soundbar for the price. I was thinking about picking up a 2nd for the bedroom but I'm kinda worried about not getting the plug...

My experience with these has been hit or miss. I bought one from NewEgg as a gift and it was perfect. Looked brand new and has worked solid. I bought another one from a deal-a-day website and it came non-functional with severe heat damage. I had to return it paying shipping costs. I finally paid a little more to get one from WalMart which allowed me to easily return it if needed.

Also, for those with DirecTV, you can set the remote volume to control only the sound bar.

The only vizio audio code is 31517

So with TV code in, code 31517 programmed to AV1 or AV2 device. Then

1. av1 or av2
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT, wait for two blinks, release
3. enter 9 9 3
4. press VOL DOWN

If you wish the vizio volume in ALL devices do the following instead:

1. av1 or av2
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT, wait for two blinks, release
3. enter 9 9 3
4. press SELECT

For all the questions and complaints about not being able to control the volume with your universal/programmable remote: don't you simply need a tv that allows for Variable audio mode output and then have the soundbar's volume fixed as the solution, ie. indirectly controlling the volume via your tv??

I have a decent Sony Bravia and a real surround system--so for the moment this isn't my own problem at home--but we've ordered a "bottom-of-the-line" LED for the in-laws and are looking into a cheap soundbar solution to coincide.

no subwoofer. How is the bass on this?

i'm trying to decide between using something like this for my tv, or hooking up my PC logitech surround sound speakers.

I got ym sound bar yesterday and its very nice. For the $40 i paid i couldn't ask for more with how good it sounds. Mine was lucky enough to come with all the accessories including the power cord and adapter.

The only problems is theres a small rip in the cloth and a couple scratches on the side. besides that looks brand new.

Damn, wish I could have got one before it sold out again

I bought one of these Vizio refurb soundbars from CompUSA, and it died after just a few days. It left me pretty skeptical about buying another one.
