Yes, most Lego sets now list several countries .. some bigger sets have as many as 5 or 6 countries listed. Denmark is usually listed (as this is still the main Lego company site), but now China is almost always listed too. Usually some other European countries are included also.

I believe they get different types of parts from different countries and then package them into sets. Unfortunately, they don't tell you the mix of parts, so for example, you can't tell if it's 2% parts from China, or 80%.

However, I would say that the quality has remained very high -- these are not at all in the "China Junk" class of most toy products. The cost is relatively high but as you'll see there is a large following (and many adult fan websites).

But anyway, this deal is a non-deal $10 for this set.

Maybe he meant "70 cents off" and not "70 *per*cent off."

Got it for $5 at my local store. He probably was looking at the Toys R Us pricing which is higher than retail. This is a good post. Sounds like retail is $9.99 so it really is 50% off.
