Correct, this time (unlike before July 1), Canon extended the rebate, making it the same claim id as before Sept 30th, so anyone who claimed one between July 1 and Sept 30 is not eligible.

For merchant specific rebates, manufacturers sometimes require the merchants to provide them the sale information that qualifies the rebate. If Beach Camera does not send your information to Canon since your purchase is from eBay rather than directly from BeachCamera.com, then you are screwed.

Think about it. If Canon does not care whether to honor rebates for marketplace purchases, why the heck they made up such terms and conditions on the rebate form. Of course you can still take a chance, but you are jeopardizing your $400. Good luck!

I bought 2600$ worth of ebay gift card from kroger. earn 1% on my credit cards. earn 5200 points for gas (used to be 4x points last deal, only 2x now)

Here is the break down.
2600 - 400 rebate - 52 ebay bucks - 182 gas credit - 26 credit card - 800 new lens - 130 new printer

= $1010 for a brand new 5d mark ii.

Does it make a difference if you bought through different seller? I did this through Amazon in July

from previous slickdeals the lens is closer to $700

The screenshots won't matter, Beach Camera isn't the one processing the rebate. If you already did it within the last rebate period, you're probably not eligible.

Yes, as over the last year+ there have been many, many deals with this rebate from Beach Camera, and I've never seen a thread come back up months later with dozens of people complaining that their rebate fell through

Haha, nice. You might have a little trouble getting $800 for the lens, but, $750 is definitely doable. Either way, that's a brilliant way of connecting savings

I checked ebay, the lens is going for 860$ for a new one without warranty. After ebay fee. It should be around 800$ for a new one with warranty.

Hi Folks, can someone help me out. A buddy is offering me this camera body for $1000, its probably two years old but I know for a fact that its in pristine condition and was very well taken care off. I’m thinking it’s a good deal but I know very little about DSLR. Can someone confirm if it’s a good value?

For all the people like me who are worried about the rebate, I just spoke to Beach Camera.

They told me that their receipts don't mention ebay, so make sure you send the shop receipt to them. The rebates are legit.

No worries what so ever.

Anyone bought similar deal like this before and actually got back their rebate money?
