Hot links blocked by firewall at work/ No work around
Months ago Slickdeals changed the format of most links posted to SD, especially on the front page deals and OP sections. At work, 90% of links are blocked by our firewall. What I have done in the past to get around this is right click the link and go to properties. The full web address was embedded in the link so I would copy just the web address and go to the site directly. The new format of the links does not have the web address embedded in the link so now I am SOL while I am at work unless I want to try to go to at site's home page and find the appropriate page. But as we all know on SD, some of the pages linked are not even searchable on the web sites, or are buried. I have seen posts where others have also had this problem. Is there any way to try and help out those of us that have firewalls? ![]() |

Have you tried using Chrome? In Chrome you can right-click a link and one of the options is to "go to www.website.com" and opens in a new window. Not sure if that would accomplish what you want though.
I believe I've found the solution to obesity in America. Hemispherectomy....no one uses it anyway.
