I'm STILL waiting for my rebate from the one previous to the last one. I'm beginning to think they don't send it.
The Slickdeals Gestapo god mods banned me from rating deals because I actually used the feature. They don't care about you, and deal ratings are not accurate because of them. Do not comply with Slickdeals Gestapo god mods! They're drunk on the little amount of power they have. They need to get out and experience real life once in a while. Maybe date someone. Maybe get that GED. Maybe move out of their mom's basement and get a job.

fram uses a cardboard piece in their filters, it shouldnt cause any problems, but to me i feel better buying a filter that has the same piece made of metal. not all synthetics are created equal either. some sear faster than others, which is almost the most important thing. basically if you are going to either be doing a lot of racing or high rpm operation, or if you are going for extended oil change intervals then you dont want an oil that is going to break down easily. |

I use Mobile 1 Synthetic every 10k miles. If I used standard oil, I'd go every 5k. Turns out it's cheaper to use Synthetic. I do a lot of cold starts during the day, and a lot of in town driving, so I'm hard on an engine. Oil will break down, and you will get metal shavings in your engine. As long as you are changing it, with the filter, most any oil should be fine. If you've got a pricey new car with tight engine tolerances (Vette, MB, BMW, WRX, EVO...), I'd recommend fresh syn oil rather than this cheap stuff. There's a reason the mfg. recommends certain oils. |

My advice? Don't rev the engine after cold starts until it warms up - wait 10 minutes or more. Make sure to change the oil at 5k for standard, and 10k for synthetics. YMMV depending on the type of driving you do. |

This company is very likely to file bankruptcy and will become insolvent. I have two rebates from them from previous offers from over 11-12+ weeks ago and I have yet to get a check.
I like their product, I like their goals, I like the rebate, but I just don't find these deals reliable and I doubt they will be around for a long time. Last rebate offer their Altman Z Score was a 98% chance of Bankruptcy today their score predicts a 96% chance of bankruptcy. |

Actually the rebate period has been significantly extended from
6-8 weeks in the April GT12-8421 offer number to the current offer which is 8-12 weeks. They actually added another month, making it four months.
