That's exactly why the fuel efficiency went up. 10W is thicker... It has nothing to do with the product itself. I was considering some Royal Purple.

People have been complaining that the company is insolvent for well over a year now, but I am still 14/14 on these rebates.

Used that in my old car. I'm sure it's safe to say no one short of a racecar driver would ever know whether any particular oil did anything different. Well, unless you bought two identical cars and drove each one in an identical fashion for 100,000 miles...on different oils...and then tore each engine apart for inspection

I've done 3 rebates with them,no problems.The last one was in June for the quart bottles,I received that check Aug.20. You can track them on rapid-rebates.com.

Premium oils are a fat waste of money for regular consumer applications. This oil is just basically free and you can't beat that.

many months ago, their rebates arrived in timely fashion.

but the last rebate has been 'in process' since august 10, mailed in July 13. Still no update, and no sign of check being cut. So, almost 3 months now.
gotta make sure the company isn't in trouble before i dump more money. $28 is even more expensive than Mobil 1 if you don't get the rebate.

Agree. I'd like to think synthetics are worth the premium for today's extended oil change intervals, but don't have the proof to support it.

FWIW, my "automatic" interval calculator on my Mini starts at 15,000mph, but estimates my "effective" mileage is about double that. It still shows 8,000 miles or so left on the oil after a year and 15,000 miles. Not sure what it uses to determine that...guess I don't do short trips?

Regardless, I change it once a year. I'm sure it'll be fine when I sell it.

Dang your mini has SRBs attached to it? 8000 miles is about one orbital trip.

The mini probably doesn't take this oil. Those high mileage intervals usually require better oil (read: more expensive)

I haven't got the last rebate from July either. So will pass unless I get the rebate.
