I got this router a while ago from tigerdirect It is absolute crap. Needed to be reset daily and was a pain to setup. range was also horrible

geez- it's $10 shipped. I've seen 4 port switches for more that this. It doesn't have pentium inside, so double thumbs down!

Got this couple of months back from TD. It's horrible.connection gets dropout frequently. Could not able to get the wifi range past one room to another. Looking to get power line series

I have this router and it wasnt very good stock but I have the A1 revision and it works great with dd wrt.

There has NEVER been a simultaneous dual band for anywhere near $10 shipped....

These have horrible range, but otherwise are a great WR.

I have mine in the middle of a 2000 sq ft house and I'm lucky to get 1 bar at either end.

It is a bit more money but I think a Cisco E900 dual-stream router refurbished for $20 directly from Cisco is a better deal. Every alternate router firmware (dd-wrt, Tomato Toastman etc) seems to support it and there is a coupon elsewhere in these forums for an additional 5% off.

The antenna is internal but seems to be doing a pretty good job.

Also has 8MB of flash (4MB in Dlink) if that is important to you.

Using this now as I type. B model w/stock firmware. Iffy range; worse "bars" than the Verizon Westell g POS in my back yard to my Thinkpad. Thruput hardly better also.

Flashed it with DD-WRT and it's been rock solid for around two years now. Zero restarts and zero issues. No experience with stock firmware though, I usually don't bother.

If what you need is range, then look elsewhere. This is ideal for a small apartment or a small office, but in a house, you'll get barely any reception on extreme ends. My house is roughly 2000 sq. ft. spread out to 2 floors. It'll definitely reach every area of the house but downstairs at the furthest point, my phone can barely keep a signal and you'll need a laptop or something with a decent receiver to stay connected. In my case, this is being used as a wireless bridge for my other router so I don't actually have any issues.

But you also have to understand this is a $10 router (I purchased last time at $14). It will work reliably, but don't expect miracles.
