Good Quality, Low Cost, Dash Cam
I've been thinking about a dash cam lately and wondered if anyone has any experience with them. I have a few thoughts about what I would like in one. Here is my wish list:
> Low cost, good quality, picture
> Rechargeable battery powered (no cord unless charging)
> Mount top of windshield rather than on dash (dash may be acceptable though)
> Stream to storage device that is separate from dash cam (e.g. network storage
)
> Able to pickup sound from outside of vehicle
Don't know if a dash cam can record information to an external device (e.g. Bluetooth PAN), but this would protect the recordings in case of theft of the dash cam. I'm thinking that the dash cam can be somewhat "hidden" if no power cable and mounted top of windshield, but that's only a thought since I've not used them before - maybe this isn't correct. If you know of features that are worthwhile that I did not list, please let me know. These are just off-the-cuff thoughts and I'm sure I could be missing something important or that could be really useful or desired.
Regardless of the above wish list, I would entertain any dash cam if it's a good product with useful features.
Does anyone have any thoughts, experiences, recommendations on a good quality, low cost, dash cam?
