not exactly true... the city select comes bare bones at about $500, but does not include anything but the frame, seat, canopy and under basket. by the time you buy the items to make them an apples to apples comparison, you are higher priced with the city select. (well over 700) and it's other options are all priced way higher than most add-ons from many stroller companies.

Paying for the name? yikes...

If you can afford one of these, you have too much money. This thing isn't that 'stylish', so you're not paying for that. The black version looks like something you'd see at a funeral. The colorful ones look exactly like a picnic basket.

I've seen/pushed a number of different strollers that were in the 150-200$ range that rolled smooth and steady over all different terrain and haven't shown much wear after a years use. So, I don't know how the quality of this could be THAT much better.

can somebody compare this one to the Bugaboo brand (Chameleon or Bee), or Stokke? I'm in the market for a stroller and this is the first I've heard of this brand... Going to be parent in a few months! Thanks for your help.. in advance!

It's expensive but it's one of the few strollers in the market that sits the infant high up off the ground. I live in a city with a lot of traffic and I don't want my child's face directly at level with a car's exhaust pipe. There aren't any cheaper strollers out there that have higher seats.

I'm testing out a Stokke now - I like that the seat is adjustable and it sits the child higher up than the Uppababy. The downside is that the Stokke seems a bit bulky and difficult to collapse down if you want to put it into the car. The Uppababy seems like it might be easier for that, and it also fits more carseats, ie Graco, Chicco, etc. The Stokke doesn't fit the Chicco which is what I have. Walking around town, it seems that a lot of people have the Uppababy and not so many have the Stokke(not sure if it's due to quality vs price).

LOVE/hate our UB Vista(SD'd last year)!
Just wish the seat could go flat instead of just recline for a bed/table configuration.

The bugaboo is too low to the ground in our opinion, does not drive as smoothly as the UP and you have to fill the tires with air where as uppababys is all foam. Never goes flat. Also you have to assemble to bassinet and seat using the same material and some people have to pay someone to do it for them bc it's that hard. As for the Stokke my friend got one as a gift and she hates hates hates it and tries to leave it outside so it can get stolen just so her hubby can be ok with buying her the Uppababys. Lol. And if it matters to you (it did to me) the uppa is built with all green and organic materials.

This is a good deal for those who need a stroller right now. I'm thinking the price will lower at the end of the year. I was debating on this stroller however, after viewing it in person and tried it in my car, it took up more than half the trunk space.
