Need a new laptop for work...
Company is paying, but I need to keep it around $800(ish). I can up it to closer to $900 for a WOW factor if the deal is right.Specs I was given: I7 processor 8gb of RAM 500+ GB hardDrive Preferably Windows 7 PRO, but can settle for the standard home premium and a cheap place to get PRO upgrade. Thanks in advance!!! |

If it's still in stock, I'd recommend that you jump on this one from the Lenovo Outlet:

If this is for general business use with a 4-5 year upgrade cycle, get the Thinkpad T520, T530, T430, T420 for under $800 with Intel i5 Sandy (25xxM)or Ivy(35xxM). The new i5 are as fast as the old i7.Thinlpad Laptops & Ultrabooks | Lenovo Outlet (US) | [lenovo.com] Last edited by FAL; 10-04-2012 at 11:07 AM.. << Your SD Reps/Feedback Improves Post =

Honestly the only requirements are moreso "top of the line" preferences (IE.... whatever is "new technology".....etc). I would like to get something "new" (not refurb or open box) and preferebly somewhere with a good return policy and/or customer support (local)? Not opposed to online order, but with it being a work thing..... it would be easier if it were a big box store. Thanks a lot for the response. Looking through the link you sent, I see some new also. SWEET. Scouring it now! THANKS. Any specific reasons you prefer these and are there major differences in the models you posted? I am not too familiar with the Lenovo/IBM brand. I did have an old ThinkPad 6-7 years ago for work..... I don't remember hating it! ;P This one looks sweet: http://outlet.lenovo.com/SEUILibr...de=4180A11 Even comes with Windows Pro, which I am finding is rare (for some reason this does seem to be the one true requirement for the server we have it must be PRO) Last edited by RascalMJ; 10-04-2012 at 11:41 AM.. |

Man, I am thinking of jumping on this. I found one at BEst Buy Business [bestbuybusiness.com] that is similar but this one from Lenovo Outlet has the better display, bigger hard drive...etc .....AND is $220 cheaper. I noticed the T420 isn't offered at Lenovo.com (original site) anymore..... is it just discontinued? $50 tax. UGH. I am not used to paying tax. Oh well... shouldn't kill the deal Last edited by RascalMJ; 10-04-2012 at 12:59 PM.. |

Excellent, thank you. I am struggling with pulling the trigger. Not 100% sure why, I guess I am just afraid there is a better deal out there. haha. However, I am intriqued by the build quality, as I had a Toshiba recently that got a damaged screen due to the daily routine I put it through. I used to have an old T42 (I think), and I liked it and hear good things from some of my old buddies that used them back in the day (they recently all got "upgraded" to Dell machines and they hate them) Anyway.... what do YOU think of the specs of this one [lenovo.com]? |

Crap, I think they are out of that laptop now!
![]() Yep, just verified. It's out of stock. MAN, now I need help finding something equally as awesome. I looked on the lenovo site and it doesn't appear to be quite the deals now. I guess I really missed out on this one! #sadpanda Not much else that is similar for under $1000. UGH Last edited by RascalMJ; 10-09-2012 at 09:58 AM.. |
