Just a follow up to let you know how I did.
I decided to go with a "full feature" monitor after all as I don't play games much anymore and really wanted to have a monitor that could be used besides the computer (should I want to).
I ended up getting a WECUBE 27" as it had speakers, HDMI, D-Sub, audio in/out, and Component inputs from seller goodforum on eBay.
It came with all cables and a universal plug adapter to use on the Korean style plug.
I asked for a perfect pixel and this is exactly what he sent...wrapped in bubble wrap on the outside of the box.
The monitor came in ONE DAY....from the other side of the world...and it shocked the hell out of me.
Anyways, it was a bit more expensive ($385) but I think it was worth it for me.
Oh, and I did not notice any problem with the refresh with the monitor...there was no ghosting or lag with an old game of mine even though the game was going at 100-200 fps.
