Conversely, buy a solid Win 7 computer now before all the new ones come with Win 8 preloads...
QFT. I couldn't stand my testing in 8. Way too many "big" changes that change how you have to use a computer, not how you want to change. 7 is the new XP. Feel free to call me out on that in 5 years if it isn't.
Picked up two of these before seeing your post on it! Good work.
1100 Total SSD's handled between two jobs. Plextor M3s, M5s, Intel 320s, and Samsung 470/830/840s are reliable (1 intel 8MB bug failure, one M5s failure). 3 M4 errors, 1 failure among ~75 of them. Sandforce controlled drives, 13 RMAs among ~200 units.
I'm not sure if they have the same configuration, but the Lenovo B570 laptop (with Pentium B960 CPU) I bought from Best Buy during BF last year for $330 had a USB+eSATA port, Gigabit Ethernet and a fingerprint reader. Quite impressive for a laptop priced to compete with the lowest end 15.6" laptops at the time (many of which had the dreaded AMD E-350 CPU).
There is nothing amazing at present other than iPad Mini, I have Win 8 and my first experience, it is crippling.
wouldn't iPad mini be the same apple stuff currently out only a smaller version??? how is that defined as amazing? The term I would describe this particular device as is ironic. Ironic because they are choosing a screen that is typically larger than similar Android devices while the iPhone is just now hitting 4" mark, YEEEEEEARS after the US phone market has been moving to larger phones. Then again I guess that is typical Apple... renovating old tech and mind fu*king the masses into thinking they are seeing new things
