Eh. Clicked based on the original title thinking (via a rss feed) it was a deal for for some free Lego Lord of the Rings legos. Not interested in the video games. Changing the title after the fact doesn't really help.

How long did it take for the other Lego games (for Wii) to go down in price? Does anyone remember?

I know that after buying Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter years 1 -4, and Batman for $49.99 each (and on sale for $39.99 each), and then seeing them discounted to half-price a few months later, I really felt burned. I kept saying to myself, that's the last time that I'm paying near full price for one of these games.

But I kept buying them cause they really are fun for the family. However, after the last one - Batman I think, I said No More! So now I wait, even though I'm an avid LOTR fan (sigh).

Nintendo, and Lego, are not going to burn me anymore!

I'll wait to find out what DRM this is using. Most of the prior LEGO PC versions have used securom for the retail dvd.

It seems like 3-6 months is a sweet spot for about half price. But Lego Batman 2 has been out 3.5 months and the xbox game is still $40 on Amazon, and I'm hoping it will go down by Christmas. I'm so tempted to order this LOTR one, but then I remembered that I really should wait until it's out so I can see user response as to whether it's region-free like all the other lego games have been (bought my xbox while living overseas). Would hate to pay $40 and can't use it.

From what I gather, those are preorder unlockable characters, I'm not sure if they'll be available as a DLC or not.

As for the 3DS copy, i was able to preorder this from Amazon for $29.99 just less than 10 days ago...and that comes with Amazon's $10 future credit as well. I guess i'm saying this deal isn't great for the 3DS.
