I agree to some extent, but some guitars have a very noticeable difference. I have a Goodall which is a little more expensive than my friends Taylor ($1000 guitar compared to +$1000 guitar) and the difference in the Goodall is substantially noticeable. No matter who plays it, it's a HUGE difference. Nice find, by the way. Last edited by robj144; 10-04-2012 at 05:27 PM.. |

Regarding making this a left handed guitar.... Everything you said is 100% true of most acoustic steel string guitars, however, classicals usually do not have a compensated saddle like most steel sting acoustics, thus the bridge would not need to be re-cut or filled, or have anything done to it except maybe height adjustment if needed. The bridge is uniformly perpendicular to the strings. The nut may need to be cut very little if at all, but also remember the nylon strings are thicker on the higher strings and nearly uniform in thickness accross all strings thus if any filing to the slots needs done it would be minimal, or you could just replace the nut if you really wanted to. When in doubt always refer to a good luthier. I hope that helps. FYI / disclosure... I work for WMS. |

![]() ![]() I'm guessing you are being facetious since you are aware of Parkening, but I'll bute. I'm pretty sure he uses a few Ramirez III [wikipedia.org] guitars. Since Jose Ramierz III has been dead for since 1995, I'm guess those guitars are priceless. If you are interested in a modern Ramierz, you can buy them (the family still makes them) - http://ramirezguitars.us/ His version of Asturias in e minor (Leyenda) is breathtaking. |

I looked at the picture to make sure it wasnt compensated. But you are right. some are... But most are not. Unless I missed something in the picture, I am pretty sure this would be fairly easy to make into lefty. No bridge to flip. Nut "should" be simple or no work, and there is no pickgaurd to look silly upside down. |

I've made one order from worldmusicsupply.com and the product advertised as "New" arrived with its manufacturer opened, torn, beat-up and carelessly taped back up with a little piece of scotch tape. When I called what turned out to be their only B&M store, the person knew exactly what product I received without knowing my name or order number- because it was a display model which he himself packed and shipped.
I then had to spend about 10 minutes explaining to the guy that they shouldn't advertise a display unit of computer software as "new" and sell it for "brand new" price. He adamantly disagreed, even likening the software to the guitars hung on their walls (which are also out of their box, he reasoned). I requested a return label regardless which he did email to me, but it's been about 3 weeks since I shipped it and I haven't received my refund. On their website they say refunds are processed within 4-8 business days after they receive the return item, so I can't help but feel like maybe I'll never see my money again. If or when I do receive my refund, I will update this post. Last edited by GrammarPolice1; 10-04-2012 at 07:00 PM.. |

rubinguitars on e bay I have personally bought three guitars from him. For approximately $300, you receive an amazing instrument based on price/performance. Email him with your budget and your dream. He will also setup your guitar whether you play flamenco or classical. Don't think a guitar is fully ready right out of the box, it needs to be tailored to you. Please send all your plywood plunkers in care of Pete Townsend. |
