It seems I can only purchase this online at full price. When I go pick it up at the store will I be able to get them to charge me the advertised price ? i dont know if your in cali, but to be on the safe side of the fence order this when it's 10/5 even though is CA its 10:53 and when you order online it shows EST on the order, they some how like to deduct that and say you ordered it when it wasnt on sale and they can play difficult. Anything placed on the day of the sale and isnt marked the sale price i get them to override it if an issue arises. Hope that helps.

depends what you are looking for?. are you looking for a desktop that will hold it's ground for a while? these are lenovos and seem some what better than the sucky run of the mill pc staples has, limits you to 8gb total farkkkk that!. monitors come and go for 100 or less!

And I think you will be in good hands. Even my old beater desktop from staples, i pimped it out with a better power supply tossed 16gb of ram an esata card and boot times and working within windows is blazing fast on a 60gb 5400 laptop drive!!!!!!!! i cant imagine if i put an ssd.. mind you this is a 2 year old desktop.

well 8gb should run you no more than $30 or less! cpu can be upgraded you just have to do you homework and make sure you get the right one. Graphics cards are cheap too.. you can score one for $30after rebate or even less! and this is just for the browsing video experience.

if you are on a budget spend less, um on the same token i would look on intels site to see which is the next step up cpu you can toss in it, same goes for amd. I myself have not done any homework on these 2 systems and the max specs. are you in a state where there is a frys locally?. In the end you dont want to get a cheaper system but the upgrades are going to be more costly vs the $50 more one which might be easier.. so you have to look out for those.

Yes, there is a Frys 5 miles away. A lot sales persons are not very knowledgeable, they just want to sell you something.
Since this is for the grandparents, I think something under $500 should be good enough, I don't want to tinker it too much (that may mean too much trouble shooting down the line)
I am leaning more towards this one, but the lower cache of the AMD got me thinking, does it really make a difference or the 2 more g of ram will make up the difference
