that is what i thought too but actually rewards are coupon according to staples and are applied to the subtotal so when you use the rewards you will save on the tax you had paid in the first place so it cancels out and becomes free.

not really like BOGO because you can "cash out" your rewards by buying free after rebate items

the reason he said for folks in tax-free states is because you still pay out of pocket for the batteries and are therefore taxed on the batteries. the next thing you buy will be absolutely free though.

IF one monetizes one's rewards all you are paying is sales tax. So, 48 for $15 is not a better deal IMO. The rewards are restricted to rebate items if you want to get your money back, yes. I assume that is what you meant otherwise they can be used on most things Staples sells except for stamps and other cash equivalent products. All you can get in one week is 32 batteries. 2 16 packs. Price of sales tax if you monetize the rewards later.

it's probably not a deal for people who don't shop staples often. for people who do, using rewards to buy rebate items or other staples items they would have bought anyway is a good deal. just too much info. to get into, but veterans feel that these types of deals are worth it and to explain the various scenarios and the process for each would just take too long. i'm sure they have various ways profiting off such deals to make it worth it for them.

if you're interested in getting into staples, you just have to read around and get your feet wet. if you're just dabbling, it's probably not worth it to get on these batteries for you.

it sounds like its too much work to get like rebate stuff that are basically worthless anyway...

and if you dont consider the rebates, 15 for 48 batteries is def better than 75 for 150 batteries.. it will take me a yr or longer to use them.
