6 ohms, 89dB. Entry level. Decent starter set, or upgrade from HTIB. Careful with overheating your AVR. Also only 35" tall and 5.25" drivers, so will definitely need a sub.

Yeah and that's 89dB with two speakers, a sneaky way that manufacturers have been using to hide how sucky their speakers actually are. 89db with two speakers = 86db with one. And that's driven at 6ohms which is tougher to do. Since these speakers are going to by low end amps since people that buy low end speakers like these are only going to have low end amps, they are going to be low volume.

Better off with those cheap Yamaha towers that go on sale every once in a while.

I am quite knowledgeable about Audio/Video and wanted to point out to SD'ers. Jamo brand is owned by Klipsch (parent company)

a very good price. you should consider upgrade your AVR if you are going to get few of those.

$100 shipped for a pair of floor standing IS entry level pricing. Most if not all people shopping in this price range will be happy with them. If you have a bit more cash and want better sound its hard to beat Polk when newegg has their sales.

If great sound is what you are after though your best bet is to find a great deal on a set of used speakers on craigslist as the good brands never discount

Tempting, but what about the full set from amazon for $200?
http://www.amazon.com/Jamo-426-HC...words=jamo

Edit: Jamo S 426 HCS 3 WENGE 5-Piece Home Theater System (this set comes with two bookshelves and a center channel beside the two speakers)

I don't know that I'd spend an extra $100 for the surrounds and center.... What I'd do is buy the fronts and pair with the Pioneer SP-BS21 surrounds $50 shipped periodically and a Pioneer SP-C21 center $50 shipped periodically. The Pioneers are going to put out better sound... I have the 426 set and I have listened to my buddies Pioneers and they do sounds better.

I picked up the set(2 floorstanding speakers + 2 surround speakers + center speaker) for $150 on neweggs sale last year, couldn't be happier for the price. Paired with both a 10 and 8 inch sub this HT rocks.
