NOTE OF CAUTION: ASUS will not replace your display unless you have 3 dead pixels... so if it has 1 or 2 even though you bought it new out of the box you still can't RMA it to them. Doesn't really matter if you have shoprunner with newegg because you can free shipping it back for a return though.
I have owned the VS247H-P for two months, which I heard is similar to the VS248H-P. It's pretty good I suppose, although there are a few things I've noticed that are a little off.
1. The top half has a slightly warmer, reddish tone and a cooler, bluish tone at the bottom; it's a gradual shift but obvious when the majority of the screen has light colors. I got it replaced (with a different manufacture date) and it had the same issue. It's not noticeable when I'm watching a video or playing a game on it.
2. They both also had a neon-like whiteness where it's not glowing but the white appears off somehow, and it bugs me if I'm reading something like a word doc on it. #1 may be why it seems off. Thankfully, my other monitor is an IPS and shows it more accurately. My IPS monitor may also be why I'm noticing #1 and #2.
3. There is minor color bleeding all around, but only noticeable with a black background. I don't think I'd notice if I were playing a video of a dark scene at full screen.
If none of the above is a big issue, like it isn't for me, enjoy.
