I have and have built the set (I'm an adult but I love both Lego and Minecraft). It's not something like a city set which can take a normal kid 20 minutes to put together. It's a very detailed set with a ton of those single layer 1x1 stud bricks and actually does take a long time to put together even for me. However, you do build the set in four sections so there are spots where it's easy to leave and come back later. Obviously at 7, the pieces aren't going to be a choking issue, but following the directions precisely for hours may become tiring for him..

Oh, and absolutely make them put it together on a hard surface and not the carpet. There are a ton of extra pieces in this set (partly so you can be more creative later) but most of the pieces are tiny and will get lost in the carpet.

Went to the LEGO store and they ordered it for me with free shipping! This offer is good for all customers. They didn't even know it was in stock. They were excited haha

The more stays in stock the less $ you make reselling it...the only good deal is buying this from TRU where they have buy 1 Lego get 2nd @ 40% off... Also Lego.com charges tax too on top of shipping.
