Underwater Mortgage Refinance
Hi All,
Appreciate the help. Here is the situation.
I own a second home (was my primary) in GA that is rented. Right after we moved two years ago, we refinanced it under HARP down to a 4% five year ARM (three years left). Bought for $250k, mortgage is for $190k, probably sellable in the $170k range.
I'd really like to refinance this down to a 15 year loan (or a 30 year fixed would be fine as well). I know I can't use HARP again, but are there lenders doing these types of loans or am I stuck for now?
We initially were just going to sell and take the loss, but now we may end up owning it long term.
Thanks.
