I had one that had an issue from day 1 with a flaw in the screen material... They sent someone when it was 1 week old to repair it in home and they ended up scratching up the screen and Mitsubishi wouldn't do anything about it.... Luckily the store took it back after.......
Then the one I'm watching tv on rightt now has three dead mirrors on the dlp chip causing white dots on the screen.. All happened within a week of each other in the past month..... I will never purchase another Mitsubishi product...ever.... There's a reason why these are so cheap..... And keep in mind they are rear projection so you will have to replace the lamp eventually...... Last edited by BigTymer1; 10-06-2012 at 10:52 PM.. |

I got a 65 inch one about 3 years back for 999.99 and after about a year I started getting a blue start screen when turning it on.. Only happen once every few weeks. I just sold the tv for 300. Kinda glade because Im sure the bulb was due and who knows how long until it wouldnt boot anymore.
Besides that the picture looked just as good as anything else. |

dunno why people are griping about the bulb cost. I bought a bulb as a spare for my WD-73C9 (couple models behind) for $36 on amazon. Its been almost 2.5 years and its still on the original bulb. Havent had any problems with it at all, great viewing angles. The old DLPs had bad angles.

I'm having a hard time deciding between this TV, and a Panasonic Plasma. My mom just picked up the Panasonic TC-P60U50. The picture is great with awesome black levels. Now I want to get one for a dedicated room that only 15x12. The main thing I'm worried about is if I'm going to be disappointed with the Mits DLP after seeing the Panny plasma...I know the DLP won't have the better black levels, but the extra 13 inches will give me a more immersive feel. The closest store is about an hour away that sells DLPs which is hhgreg.
So if you guys had the choice, what would you do? |
