Property manager wont return deposit. I don't want to go to small claims court as I live so far away it would not be worth going to for 250.00 dollars. |

Under Florida Stature 83.49 upon vacating the premises the Landlord has 15 days to notify you in writing of the landlord's intention to impose a claim to the security deposit, failure of which he/she forfeits the deposit. You can bring an action and if successful you could be awarded your reasonable attorney fees. Unfortunately you can not seek treble damages. Last edited by Mr.Ritz; 10-05-2012 at 12:52 PM.. |

I bet the landlord will refund the money immediately, since this cymbal of goodwill might forestall a pricey lawsuit!
