Those claimed read/write speeds and IOPS don't mean much. The Samsung 830 is absolutely faster than the Kingston. It's up to you whether you want to spend more to get more speed. Either drive will be quite fast.
The Kingston V+200 series SSDs are Sandforce SF-2281 based drives using asynchronous NAND memory. They're just a bit slower than the HyperX 3K SSDs which have the same controller but use the faster synchronous memory. V+200 is like the OCZ Agility 3 series and the HyperX is like the OCZ Vertex 3 Series. One reason why the Samsung drive is faster than either of these Kingston models is that it uses the faster Toggle mode NAND memory but its controller is also very well designed.
This is a knowledgeable SlickDealer and accurate portrayal of the differences between these two types of technologies.
Looks pretty good for a <50 cents/Gb SSD. Sure beats all those OCZ SSDs that have been posted for the past 2 months.
Depends on the technologies used. OCZ Agility = asynchronous NAND while Vertex = synchronous. I'd take a Vertex series (even the older Vertex 2) over this any day.

You guys have been members since 2005 and 2006 respectively, and you still don't understand how to PM + Coupon @ staples?
I can do math just fine and I can read even better. You have been here long enough to know that you cant do a PM and use a Q. Just because you get a CSR that does it only means that you got lucky with a dumb csr.
You may as well tell folks to walk along the street to pick up $20 dollar bills.
I can do some things at staples too, that Im not suppose to do according to the rules..sometimes I get the bear and sometimes the bear gets me.
I had a split personality, but I'm better now, no I'm not, yes I am, no I'm not, ah shut up!

Can anyone comment on the reliability or the Kingston brand SSD?
In my case, which of course doesn't mean much, I had a 64GB one for over a year, then some weird random computer problems which I finally traced to the Kingston SSD. It came with a 3 year warranty though, so got it replaced without issues.
