Buy a cheap one and you have OK quality and good performance, providing that you care for it properly. Made from cheaper materials so life span is probably going to be shorter than an expensive one unless you rarely use it.
Buy an expensive one like Le Crueset and you have excellent quality and great performance, but at a cost. However, it's an investment into something of very good quality and you may have it for decades if you care for it. There is no right or wrong choice. it's like choosing between a Kia or a Lexus. Weigh the cost, compare the quality and decide which may be a better fit for your cooking habits and wallet.

I guess it depends on how much you value your time at (plus the not insignificant cost of the gasoline and wear and tear on your car). If you do need a Dutch Oven, I'd go with the Tramontina myself - I very much doubt it will make any difference on any food you ever cook on it. |
