Need a new mouse and headset

I'm a gamer (used to be hardcore but now due to med school im more casual). What i need is a reliable long-lasting mouse and headset. I don't want to spend more then 40$ on each, and i don't want anything like ground breaking or top-of-the-edge. I just want something that is decent for gaming, is reliable and will last more then a few months (1 year+). Thanks for your help.

I should mention my last headset (Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset) died to a faulty audio connector [Would really love USB connector for this reason]. And my last mouse ( steelseries Kinzu 62011) died to double click on single click.

CM Xornet and Spawn are good and the price is right (especially when on sale). And if you've never had a mouse with a ring-finger ledge before, you might not know what you're missing. Warning: the buttons and/or dpi settings may not be programmable on one or both, not sure.

If you want something even cheaper, check out the 2400(?) dpi LX Gaming Mouse (and similar names for it) on ebay. It's a MS Sidewinder knockoff and is about $10 shipped on a good day. I beat the crap out of one pretty good for a while and it was just fine until I switched to something else just because. Make sure to pay the few extra bucks for the version with thumb buttons if you want thumb buttons.

Or when in doubt, just get a Logitech 518, G400, or 500.

The various Siberia headsets are pretty nice for the price.

Nice suggestions, thanks did not know about those mouses! As far as durability, how long do you think they will last? Also someone else suggested me a razer deathadder, however afaik razer mice die really fast.

Who knows. I just know lots of people say good things about the Cooler Masters, they can be quite inexpensive if you catch a sale/rebate like the Xornet for $13 or whatever a bit ago, and after thinking about it some time back, I came to the conclusion that every Cooler Master product I've ever purchased from mice to fans to heatsinks to power supplies has been good and the price has been right.

I read a few good things about the Sidewinder knockoff and took a chance on it out of curiosity if nothing else and like it a good bit, (though smaller than expected), and probably put a year+ of "normal person use" on it already. I tend to beat up scroll wheels, that's almost always the first thing to go on my mice, and probably the weakest point on most mice, but it's still going. I saw some favorable comments about certain other Chinese mice too, (and unfavorable comments about numerous other ones), but you can only play with so many mice at a time.

When you consider you can have four or so Chinese mice for the price of one on-sale Logitech, even if they break after a bit it's not so bad, and if you don't like them, they're not too annoying since they didn't cost much.

If I was looking at typical brands and typical models of "high-end gaming mice," I'd go straight to Logitech and not even consider a Razor. Just my opinion. I'm sure Razor fans would disagree.

Btw, when I said the Siberias are pretty nice for the price, I meant getting them for around $40, not getting them for around $80 like at some places. And they come with a rather nice microphone, though usually a clip-on, so if you want that version right in front of your face you'll have to get a little creative like ziptie or tape a boom-like thing to the headset to then clip the mic to.

Ended up grabbing the g500, looks like a quality mouse, heres to hoping it lasts! As for siberia v2, do you think these are possibly legit? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI....AQ:US:1123 40$ from china, seems shady.

in the description, there is no any words state that this is a genius product, also a free mouse pad included???? are you kidding, that mouse pad alone costs about ~$10~$15. I doubt both of them are fake, be-careful, seller just got 15 rating, don't trust.
