LandsEnd right now has 40% off any one item with free shipping over $50 - but I'm not sure if they have any winter coats (reg price or sale price) that would suit your needs under $60, but it's worth a look. |

Definitely try Marshalls/TJMaxx/Ross/Burlington. As mentioned, you're choosing the wrong time to buy a jacket. Right when it's starting to get cold, you're kind of a captive audience here. There are a lot of places that have jacket clearances, like snowboarding websites, outdoor websites like REI, etc. but their clearances are all earlier in the year, when relatively no one is buying jackets. Except for us slickdealers of course, and the hot deals section blows up with jacket threads! The deals aren't readily available though, you have to be diligent and willing to pounce when something comes up.

My last couple coats I've gotten at backcountryoutlet.com (altrec is along the same lines). Sierra trading post can be good too, if you get on their email list you can get 30% off codes. Check retailmenot.com or similar site for coupon codes for whatever site you use too. I also have a jacket from Land's End which has really held up well, a North face windproof fleece clone. Your timing may be off there for good deals though.

I just found out about them a couple weeks ago and picked up some Summer stuff for a steal! Saw they were having deals on winter coats but admittedly didn't click in to look at them although at $50 I suspect you're gonna have to visit Goodwill or Salvation Army! I once picked up a full length wool coat when I was in Chicago for about that much. Didn't need it for all that long but I didn't have anything else that looked nice and would keep me warm. Definitely a good use of $50. Perhaps next time you should look for a jacket in the spring and not right when everyone is actually buying them
