With FS, I think I would pony up an extra $200 for the 9's. If memory serves me, the folks over at the Polk Forums feel that there was a substantial sonic improvement in this new model version of the 12's.

Quite frankly, I am speechless. My wife will carve my nuts if I buy another set of speakers. I have the 12's, but they are black. I would have preferred the Cherry. I jumped at a deal on the 12's (that right now is not looking to be such a deal) from Crutchfield years back.

Agree!!! I missed all RTI deals earlier this year before they all gone. Now I just completed my 7.1 set up with Energy RC70, v6.2. RC10, RCLCR. Damm bad timing.

I've got a Denon 4802R (weight about 50lbs) and is just barely enough to get the woofers moving on some RTi10's. Some say to pick up a 2 channel pro-amp and drive the lower half of the RTi's. They are pretty reasonable, but I think you have to have a certain adapter for the balanced outputs (or get an amp with standard speaker outs).

ZZSounds sells a lot of reasonable 2 channel pro amps.

Agree! I have these speakers with Denon 3312CI and they just standing there starring at me! I am saving up for a separate amp. Need suggestion from someone what to get for $1200 (2 channel amp).

so tempting. i have the a7's right now but would love to get these. think i could unload the 7's for at least $500, perhaps locally? only 3 years old.

Thanks for the quick reply, I was hoping that it would have enough power to push them that way I could just move my rt8s to the back and be good to go without spending a lot of money. Still very tempting.
