I have 4 Montor 70's and reading the reviews of the A9's they are unbelievable. Just signed up for a Newegg Preferred Account and bought 2 of these A9's. Put 2 of my Monitor 70's on ebay. To bad you don't work off commish Buckeyefan you would of got a Newegg card out and an $800 sale that I'll never be able to afford hahaha.
A pair of these cherry A9 and a pair of cherry A1's would be sweet for my living room setup, which has a cherry-colored BDI stand. The only problem is then I would have to move my 75 lb XPA2 stereo amp from the home theater. Decisions, decisions...
Those RF7ii's retail at $3200. They are awesome speakers, and very efficient. But still benefit from an outboard amp. These RTi A9's are the better buy though, because for the price shipped, you can get a very nice amp for well under the price of one of the RF7ii's. With the proper amplification, I'd bet they would give the Klipsh a run for their money - with a smoother high end and amazing mid-range.
I've got a Denon 4802R (weight about 50lbs) and is just barely enough to get the woofers moving on some RTi10's. Some say to pick up a 2 channel pro-amp and drive the lower half of the RTi's. They are pretty reasonable, but I think you have to have a certain adapter for the balanced outputs (or get an amp with standard speaker outs).
ZZSounds sells a lot of reasonable 2 channel pro amps.
What receiver would be good to pair with this? I have the harmon kardon 635 and I have been looking at other forums and people have been saying receivers like these won't satisfy these speakers. I'm looking to buy a new receiver and amp, and I was just wondering if I can just buy an amp for my hk 635.
Cherry went out of stock, afraid black will too. Will these be on sale black friday by any chance?
