Great deal. I got these from REI a couple months ago on a similar deal. Here's a $0.33 filler [rei.com] to get you free shipping.
Looks like membership costs $20, fwiw. So for non-members, the shoes are $50, and you could consider membership a $10 add-on. ($40 shoes + $20 membership, vs $50 shoes). Just a quick note about Five Fingers:
The sizing on these is extremely important. If you've never tried them on, I'd be highly cautious about making your first purchase online. I ended up buying a set 3 sizes larger than what I wear for normal shoes. It's not because their sizing is small - it's because they grip your feet in a way that makes sizing highly subjective. |

I really need to find a Vibram alternative. I've been wearing KSO's exclusively for about 4 years now (I don't wear any other shoes), and they always smell horribly after just a day of using them. I've found ways to get rid of the smell, but it's just too much hassle.
I wish they made a FiveFinger model that didn't create the Vibram funk within a day of usage. |

On there other hand, there are some models which have more of a cushion in the back. For instance my Bilika's and Treksports have additional padding compared to my KSO's. While I haven't seen them, some of the newer models also appear to have more padding in the back. http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/...otwear.htm As a last resort you can use toe socks. I have a couple of pairs which I purchased from ebay which I use in the winter. But they are rather thin and I doubt they will last very long with prolong use. Others have used Injinji toe socks. Are you wearing the same KSO every day? You gotta give it a few days to air out. Otherwise your foot order will just permeate into the shoe fiber. So be sure to get at least 3 pairs so you can alternate them. Here's the definitive guide on ways to get the funk out.
