you can use any cloud service with android, e.g. dropbox
yes copy/paste is straightforward with android as it is with windows - connect the device to a PC, select "disk drive" and drag/drop just as if it were a flash drive. try a "file explorer"-like program, e.g. es file explorer or astro you can also send via BT |
Android is straight forward, just like Windows, you hit copy on the item in question, then hit paste into whichever folder you like. There is no transfer vehicle necessary, like iTunes. |

you have a file on the phone - and you want to get it to a PC - connect via USB, select disk drive and copy/paste to your heart's content - connect via BT and send from phone to PC (I use ES file explorer for this) - setup dropbox (or whatever) accounts on both the phone and PC - put microSD card in phone, use ES then copy/paste to SD, remove SD and copy/paste to PC |

Sigh....
! ....but this phone is piece of crap, I mean...do I need to buy a microSD card just to get my own stuff on it?...sigh! I miss my iPhone!

Search "file explorer" in the Google Play store. The one I use is called "Astro."

Basically, you install the app found at this website on your Mac: http://www.android.com/filetransfer/ Then, once that app is installed on your computer, do what the others said. Plug the phone into the computer, then select "Disk Drive" on the USB menu. If the menu doesn't pop up automatically, look in your notifications bar (swipe it down). Once you have the phone plugged in and set to Disk Drive mode, it should show up in Finder just like an external hard drive, thumb drive, or memory card would. You only need the File Transfer software above if your phone is running Andriod 3.0 or later. Older versions you should be able to just plug in, mount, and go.
