Do yourselves a favor and get the 50" 1080P LG50PA5500 plasma that goes on sale for $499 + tax at Fry's. Once calibrated and broken in, the tv is absolutely spectacular for the price.

Who cares if it's heavier than LCD? It's better at just about everything anyways and blacks are pretty good for a lower end plasma, and speakers don't completely suck, either. But the picture. The picture is fantastic. There's a big thread on AVS forums on that and the 60" version to help you break it in and calibrate correctly.

I couldn't be happier.

this is a great deal, as long as you don't want 3d.
