What's your problem? Not everyone has been a member of slickdeals for years. I've been a member a couple years and I didn't know about this. It's GOOD when someone posts a repeat--it does help some people. Give it a rest for god's sake and get over yourself.

I was told that the only way to sign-up was to go into a branch and have them link my Freedom credit card to my checking account. Then it took about 2 credit card statement cycles to reflect the additional points each statement thereafter. Also note that if you credit card is replaced due to fraud, you need to do this linkage all over again.

I was a Chase checking customer for a few years. Then I signed up for the Freedom CC. I didn't do anything special and it automatically linked.

it has nothing to do with slickdeals.it is called CHASE EXCLUSIVE and offered for free , automatically by chase for those with chase freedom card and chase checking

Bit off topic....if you bought an item and earn rewards but later change your mind and return the time, do you loss the points earned?

No, its automatic. As long as its on the same account, you should be getting the benefit.

Why keep the Chase checking account for this? I close my Chase checking account each year so I can open it again and get another $150 or $200 bonus.

Please calm down. If I had the need/desire to open a Chase checking, that OP would have been a slick deal for me. I know that slickdeals doesn't (not don't) offer chase points. Don't know why you felt the need to write that.

How can you tell on your credit card statement if this extra 10% checking account link is in effect? Is there a particular line to look for in the rewards points section?

Yeah that part is lame but the 10 points for every transaction is really nice on top of the 5%. Too bad the categories are now things for things that I don't need. The last 3 months, I hauled in the money on gas and restaurants. As a single guy, it couldn't get any better.

It shows under the bonus breakdown, seperate area for the 10% bonus and the 10 points for each purchase. It really is the .1% as people have indicated here. That part isn't as alluring as the each transaction one is when coupled with 5%. I was averaging $50-60 a month the past 3 months. About 35-40 was the categories (part of the summer categories on the July statement). I bet I will have maxed out the $1500 limit by this statement coming up. Love getting paid to buy the things I would be getting anyways.... well again.. until these new categories have started.
