Stack cashback from paypal debit card (1%) and a rewards credit card?
Can you get two rewards from one purchase by buying with a paypal debit card, and funding your paypal account with a rewards credit card?
Paypal offers a debit card to qualified account holders that gives 1% cashback on signed-for purchases. They also allow you to fund your account by connecting it to a credit card -- if it's the highest priority on your list of payment sources (which does take some effort, as they default to using your paypal balance or a bank account first), any purchases made with your paypal account will automatically charge the amount to the CC.
So, what's stopping me from getting 1% cashback from paypal, and then more cashback/points/miles/whatever from my credit card company?
I'm assuming there must be something that prevents customers from double dipping, but I don't know what it is. My only guess is that perhaps the CC will consider any paypal charges a cash advance, thus obliterating any reward gains, but I have not been able to find any information online about whether or not this is the case.
Any idea why this would or wouldn't work? Do you think it might be breaking one of the company's ToS or be considered fraud perhaps?
