D-LINK router ( DIR-655) problems should i return it !?
i got this routher from newegg when it was posted here . I lose connection a lot , and the router disconnects a lot . it works for a while and then the same problem . I reset the router many times , updated the firmware and same problmes come back . i contacted their support and they tried to help many times but no effect , they gave me an option for replacement . should i send it for replacement on my expense or there is a fix for these problems ? is it flashable to dd-wrt?
whats trending right now >>> Slickdeals Live View Feed TWC charging $3.95 to lease their cable modem - buy your own modem discussion if someone steals food from your lunch in the refrigerator at work, just make some yummy tempting cookies with laxatives in them. then just wait to see who gets the runs! that person wont ever steal anything from your lunch ever again!!! O.O |

What wireless devices are having this issue?
Are you right up on the router with your wireless device? How long between disconnects? Does the router lock up or the wireless radio just stop transmitting? Or is it transmitting but there is interference? Use a program like inSSIDer [metageek.net] to scan for other wireless networks around your area that may be overlapping and conflicting with your network and causing possible drops. - All wireless devices , my iphones and laptops. - around 10 minutes between disconnects, the wifi dissapear and then come back. sometimes there is wifi but nothing transmitted so i have to reset the router thanks will try that . but i remember reading in slickdeals that this router disconnects because of surrounding routers transmits on the same frequancy or something |

This router does not seem to be a dual band router so using the 5 GHz frequency to communicate with over all of the 2.4 GHz riff raff does not seem like an option so I cannot advise that. |
