http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index....ces#Belkin USB might be slow though. I have the F7D8301, and the box says the F7D8301's USB transfer speed is 12 Mbits/s (1.5 MB/s). I would suspect the same for the F7D7302. |

Here are some links that talk about it: http://forums.macrumors.com/showt...?t=1251496 http://forums.macrumors.com/showt...?t=1293865 http://tweaks.com/windows/46495/e...n-windows/ If you just share the printers on the computers they are connected to, they will be network printers, provided sharing is enabled on the other devices and the computer that they are connected to is turned on and connected to the network. Anyways, if you haven't tried it, you might as well give it a shot. "Inna ma'al ousri yousra"(94:6) - "Verily in any hardship there is ease."

It's has 8 ports and gigabit. This router is only 100mps |
|
|
However, I do not think my TV and receiver will need more than 100mps. And I want Tomato on this thing and the chance to have it a a backup router. And USB/BT are both very nice to have. |

I had one. The version I had support Tomato.
Even with Tomato, it's not worth it. Pathetically slow router. USB support is there, but the speed is unbearable. Never got USB printing to work on it. Had it with a Asus RT-16N, as extended wireless router. It work okay as that for a while. Disconnect on wireless every now and then, which is quite annoying. After four months, it completely died. No lights, nothing. Leave it off for a day and plug it back in and it came back on... I'd rather pay a little extra for something a little more reliable and trouble free. |

I currently have a Belkin N1 router I bought in 2008. Would this new router be any better in any way than the one I have now considering we just use it for wireless internet for a few laptops in our 1000 square foot home? Would speed be increased? Any help is appreciated.

For those interested in installing TOMATO on this router, here is the post by ct99 from FW:
"Shibby's Tomato is your best bet. I am not sure why your setup is giving you trouble, as most people have no problem loading TomatoUSB once they get DD-WRT installed. Since you have no trouble using CFE, you can try going straight to TomatoUSB: 1) Download this file: http://tomato.groov.pl/download/K...ato-K26USB... . MD5= 243006275C1B78F319F86FC2B0AD98BA 2) Use a hex editor to replace (not insert) the first 4 bytes from 0x48 0x44 0x52 0x30 to 0x22 0x03 0x10 0x20. new MD5= 57E9EBE7C231B7E0005BCF765CE6801D 3) Go into CFE. Using Internet Explorer, upload the file from step 2. After roughly 38 seconds (depending on transfer speed), uploading is completed and the router reboots. Close Internet Explorer. 4) Wait at least 3 minutes and 4 seconds. The front LED is not lit during this time. 5) After waiting enough time, the front LED should become amber or orange. Wait another 6 seconds. The LED becomes green. If you get this far, the firmware is running. Set your PC for dynamic IP and you should get an IP in 192.168.1.X. If the LED never comes on, then the firmware is not working. You would need to go back to CFE to reload a working firmware." People reported that this method worked for them. But you are on your own. Don't blame me if something goes wrong. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I received the modem today, the method above did not work for me.
