i hate when they sell things like this. the slick dealer in me wants to buy buy buy, but I don't want to spend $28 on 14 books that i end up not enjoying. Anyone can tell me what other authors or series these books may be like?

Many movies have been based on his work. In my opinion, a very great author. Also, in my opinion, his work is better than the big screen adaption. To name a few:

Blade Runner
Minority Report
Total Recall
Screamers
The Adjustment Bureau
Paycheck

I know I didn't answer your question directly, but I find that when people ask about a book/author they usually recognize films based upon the work rather than other works to which a comparison may be drawn.

when i was younger, after blade runner came out, i really went through a philip k dick phase.
the books were hard to find back then. it is true that 'do androids dream of electric sheep'
which blade runner was based on, is one of his best, but there are also other great ones.
I wouldnt start with "Valis" or "a scanner darkly"

The man in the high castle is an alternate history novel where the allies had lost WWII. The eastern US is occupied by the Germans and the West by the Japanese. In it, the the man in the high castle is a science fiction writer who wrote an alternate history book where the Allies had won the war. Thats Philip K Dick - alternate history inside alternate history which winds up being the what real history.

The three stigmata of Palmer Eldritch has people absorbed in an alternate reality game way before the internet where many people are so absorbed. He really predicts this kind of addiction very well.

Ubik and Flow my Tears would also be good introductions, I think

PKD is an exceptional author. Definitely worth reading.

I think you are not a fan of PKD - Man in the High Castle; A Scanner Darkly; UBIK; Three Stigmata; The Transmigration of Timothy Archer; Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said?!

A large bunch of his very best works! And since most of the movies based on his works were based on short stories, most people who've never really read his actual books, but seen the movies have very little idea about what he wrote.

If you are interested in his work, this is a decent selection to choose from.

Agreed. IMO, A Scanner Darkly is about the only film that captures PKD.
