*DEAD* Patriot 32GB Supersonic Boost XT USB3.0 Flash Drive $20 ($2sh) 10/7 only

I've had extremely poor experiences with patriot usb drives. They work in some computers, unrecognized with others. This is the case across all patriot drive lines from patriot xt 2.0 to holiday 2.0 and special shapes drives. Be warned that they may not be recognized in all computers. Never had any similar trouble with kingston and corsair flashdrives, by contrast.

I've had the opposite with my DASH and Axle drives. Surprisingly, the DASH was actually faster on USB3 than 2. 35MB/sec reads on sequential and 512K random. USB 2 I never got more than 33. Sandisk I've had failures, and most are SLOW.

Picking one up as I don't trust my Corsair Voyager with all its negative reviews or breaking. I'll keep that one for around the house.

Haven't used those you mentioned, but have a few of the SuperSonic Xpress and above USB 3.0, they do the job fine.

Yeah speeds are irrelevant when windows doesn't even see the drive.

As for corsair, I hear the usb 3.0 voyager was pretty problematic so I avoided those. My 2.0 voyager 16GB has never failed though.

I've picked up the 16GB ADATA S102, and two 32GB S102s as they seem to be the best all-around drives. Replacing everything with these, and my 32GB Patriot Axle. Now if only they could get the USB3 drives down a bit smaller...

It's too bad that flash drives are always terrible with random 4k writes. The Sandisk Extreme, which is fast with random writes, seems to have reliability issues.

newegg reviews says corsair updated them(which if you look on newegg there is one usb 3.0 that says discontinued), the current ones fixed the problems. I have one on the way from my voyager GT 32 GB thread a few days ago. the reviewer got faster than advertised speeds, just over 220 MB/s with the 64 GB in a test

Sure there is, but it's difficult to know which users are posting for which model, since they appear the same. Both 3.0 models have reviewers claiming high failure rates, but people typically don't check the model number when posting.

The GT model is fine.

It's probably people reading reviews for the different sizes, thinking it another product? Regardless, The new model has a red square with black GT letter.

Will the real, reliable really fast USB 3.0 stick, please stand up?

Side Note: I too have tried all sorts of flash drives including Patriot Exporter, Patriot Flex 32GB, San Disk, Corsair Flash Voyager, ADATA Pro, Etc. Most work well, some are slow, and some cannot be recognized.

Wanna know which one I really trust? Corsair Survivor! Large Capacity, Aluminum Case, Waterproof. USB 3.0, Blue LED, 5 year warranty, etc. Now I am waiting for the Corsair Survivor Stealth 64 GB to go on sale! I've been striping two Patriot Supersonic Xpress 32GB in RAID and I've been getting 40 writes and 150 MB/s reads.

Is that good enough? Just raid two sticks together if you want speed on a USB 3.0 bus.

Completely different model. The standard Voyager models are CMFVY3-32GB and CMFVY3S-32GB and the latter is still being sold. Saying the GT is the same as saying that this Supersonic Boost XT is the same as their Supersonic Rage XT or Supersonic Xpress. The Boost XT is right between these two, and will work well on most PCs where people actually need to move files around between two or more. Few computers have USB3 ports, but nearly no USB2 drives can saturate the USB2 bus so USB3 it is!

Interesting concept! Can you tell me how to do it and does it require much time? And will they look like a Kingon space ship and will they still be 100% water-proof?
