Well the rebate fine print does not have such requirement.
With the new activation of this device, you will receive your rebate via Bluefish check.
Only valid for activations with a two year term purchased between Aug 8 - October 31, 2012 (while supplies last, any iphone purchase, previous orders or orders placed elsewhere). Not valid with other Bluefish gift card offers. Customer must sign a 2- year subscriber agreement with a minimum monthly recurring charge (before employee discount). Monthly Recurring charge of $29.99 – 69.98 = up to $100 rebate, $69.99 – 89.99+ = up to a $150 rebate for new main line activations. Upgrades and add a lines receive = up to $50 rebate check.
Bluefish Rebate Check - Once Sprint lines of service have remained active for 180 consecutive days, Bluefish Wireless will issue a check for the qualifying amount. Only valid for activations with a two year term purchased on this website or phone (not valid with previous orders or orders placed elsewhere). Customer must sign a 2- year subscriber agreement with a minimum $69.99 monthly recurring charge or an Add - Phone plan. Rebate total may not exceed price of the device and are not available with gift card promotions. Bluefish cannot be responsible for items that are lost or stolen.
This reminds me of a bluefish Accenture deal from a couple years back when a bunch of SDers used the link to get cheap phones and then many of those people were later contacted by sprint asking proof of employment , and got accounts canceled if they couldn't provide it... I was lucky enough not to be contacted, but definitely risky.
It's sort of a go. If your plan costs between $29.99 and $69.98 before taxes and fees, you'll only get $100 back. Higher than $69.99, you get $150. These are for new, main line activations only. Upgrades for existing customers get $50 back.
I had gotten my phones from blue fish before no issues. The only think is that you will not employee discount if you don't have intel email address. If you have myspace working email address you get 23 % off sprint prices.Wat people referring to is employee discount and it has nothing to do with rebate.
