Quite honestly OCZ is one of the best. It's all I use and I have never once had a problem. I've had 3, all of them are Vertex models. I'd say it's a pretty safe bet to go with this one.

My roommate just got one recently. He loves it already.

hmmm...the Samsung 830 was $170 and M4 was $160 last week without rebate. I consider this to be on par with those 2 but the price is not reflective of that. Would be good price without rebates though

I have two of the 128gb version and they work great!

I think the general consensus here will say that OCZ sucks in terms of reliability. That said, I have heard good things about the Vertex 4.

Still, at this price, I'd go for a Samsung 830, one of the best SSDs on the market.

The Samsung 840 is coming soon too though...

Please refrain using foul language. I actually use two Vertex 4's one I am on right now and my laptop. I never had a problem with them and they are some of the best drives you can get right now. I know OCZ used to bad, but they have been fixing up there act lately with all the updates. I can vouch that this drive is one of the best one's I used.

Also note it has a 5 year warranty so if anything happens your covered if that makes any difference in your choice.

edit: btw look at benchmarks for the Vertex 4 on "anandtech" you will see it's one of the best SSD's you can get for speed.

ocz.. that are great until they fail on you.

that said, the V4 seems to be pretty solid, and is one of the fastest SSD thanks to on board DDR.
i would not touch another OCZ for my system. but i would glad recommend it to other.

My OCZ SSD failed with in 3 months, RMA'd for another drive then sold it on eBay then used the money to buy a Hitachi SSD and its been running run for the past 6 months, if you want to go through that hassle then by all mean give it a try but at your own risk
