ACK, the reviewers are all saying even though it says M for the graphics, it's actually the M-LE.

I have the Y480 with the 1366x768 screen res. It is not great, and the viewing angles kinda suck, but I am mostly doing video editing, so really need the CPU horsepower. more than anything. Yes, with HDMI out, you can hook it up to a TV and not worry about the laptop screen. Or buy a WiDi adapter and do it wirelessly.
The laptop is nice and very powerful. It isn't very light, so if that is important to you be aware. Is this the 5400 rpm HD like mine? It really kills the windows experience benchmark.
All-in-all I am happy with the Y480, but it isn't perfect.

That was for the 640, not this card. A 650M LE doesn't exist. They just finally imported the the 650M from Asia since they've had this setup there since the Summer. This is a full 650M.

I understand screen res concerns, but to be honest, I haven't seen most people actually game on the laptop screen. It's usually on a computer monitor and the point of a laptop like this is to be dual purpose.

My main point is try to find a more powerful 14" laptop in the world, not to mention for only $800.

If you check the previous page where it lists the available models, it notes that they all have the M-LE version. Typical Lenovo where different versions of the same model laptop having the same hardware have a different description. Incidentally, if you go through the EPP site, you can save $10 more. It shows up as $789 there.

Also, through the EPP site, the y580 with a GTX660M is only $40 more at $839, not sure what the normal price is. Just wanted to throw that one out for anyone interested. Then you can upgrade to a 1080p screen, 500GB 7200rpm HDD, and a Blu-ray drive for $100 more at $939 with one of the other y580 configurations.

This shows all the cards in the 600M series. A 650m LE doesn't exist. On the previous page the 650M is the only one not listed as an LE because it isn't an LE and runs on the new Kepler technology instead of the old Fermi. Also, the 15" model isn't as slick because this kind of hardware is common in those models, but not in a 14". Only the 11" Clevo and 14" HP dv4t come close, but this laptop has much better build quality.

You'd literally be wasting 200-300 if your not gonna game or utilize the gpu.
This is the standard res for 14in laptops and personally i wouldn't want much higher res on a 14. On a 15.6 yes i would def prefer a higher resolution.

What I mean is that you game at home on a monitor with a keyboard and mouse and you use the laptop as a laptop on the road. To build a similar computer it will come out to at least $500 anyway and you won't have the portability. The only knocks against it are the screen and weight, but to me a 1600x900 screen instead of a 1366x768 isn't a big deal. There aren't any 14" laptops with 1080p monitors to begin with since it's a much smaller screen. Obviously this isn't a Retina MBP, but it isn't priced like one either. This laptop is significantly more powerful and cheaper than a Vaio S, but as trade off it weighs more and has a worse screen. The only laptop comparable is the HP dv4, which has worse build quality, processor, RAM, and hard drive.
