iphone 3 not getting 3G on t-mobile
Hope someone here can help me. I picked up an unlocked used iphone 3 off eBay for the GSM band. I inserted my tmobile sim & cannot get out to 3G. I can get my wi-fi @ home but once I leave the driveway, nothing.Can someone help me or know how to get an iPhone 3 to work on t-mobile (monthly $30 plan) |

Are you in NYC? There's very few places with iPhone compatible 3G coverage on T-mobile.

both answers are correct. by the middle of next year you'll be able to get your 3g on your iphone.

iPhone 3? It only understands 3G from ATT, for Tmo, edge is what you get. Hardware limitation.

To get 3G and 4G connectivity, your phone must be capable. The iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4 (arguably the 4S as well) are not capable of 4G signals. The above posters are also saying that the iPhone 3G/3GS can only be connected to 3G on AT&T's service. |

did you jailbreak it? i have iphone 3g and works on tmobile after jailbreak

I guess Tmobile has opened up a few 3G coverages for iPhones but only in selected cities... AT&T uses 850/1900 and Tmobile uses 1700/2100... so im guessing the iPhone 3G doesnt have the 1700/2100 band capability... |
