Great question - not sure I have ever used a 13MM on a car, but 14 MM is very common. It's strange they don't seem to even offer the 14 MM x 15MM - maybe because it is available in Craftsman?
I own a Saab and the 13mm is probably the most common size I use.

No 15mm really? I'm all for seeing a 19 in the kit but a 15 is much more popular...
Most other sets have a 15. The Craftsman dual (ratcheting boxed with the ratcheting clicker on the open end) was just on sale last week for the same price. Between the two, I'd rather have that although it s not an X beam.

EDIT, actually, the Craftsman 8 piece with the clicker is still on sale. http://www.sears.com/craftsman-8-...ockType=G3 as is the SAE set http://www.sears.com/craftsman-8-...ockType=G2

I own German cars and I think they love prime numbers because I use 11mm, 13mm, and 17mm more than any other. Usually 13mm though.

GearWrenchMicro-Driver Set 35 Pieces - This is an amazing set, it's deceptively useful.

It's got 1/4 bit socket, so it fits any bit you've got, but it's also a 'pass through' socket, so it can get REALLY slim if you are using the right bit. Great for tight spaces, but also a little tricky getting the right downward pressure.

Comes with a socket adapter, which makes is even more useful.

Got one for Christmas and have been raving about it since. Worked in office furniture installation and it was always in my pocket, super useful. Lost a bunch of parts, so I got another one, had my dad steal most of the bits, so this Christmas, i'm getting myself one, and he's getting the full set.

+1 & TU OP

I got this earlier today, thanks. I've had several times where I had to remove a screw with little clearance and had to try a bit and a 1/4 inch combination wrench which is no fun. And I'd love to have a way to use sockets like that if needed so for $13 with tax I'm in. I already have the ratcheting wrenches, they are the ones I use the most. Very durable and 5 degree is outstanding.

i don't know what you intend to use it on, but a lot of the european cars I work on usually have 13mm more often than 14mm. on small bolts/nuts, 8mm, 10mm, 13mm, 17mm are really common..
Japanese (10, 12, 14 are like the 95 %-tile, and 8, 17, 19 for the 99.999%). Ive never had to use a 13mm ever... ha, guess I need up upgrade my ride Big Grin

Is the Gearwrench LT warranty same as craftsman? like walk into Sears and you walk out with a new tool in exchange?

Does anyone know why the new 20pc set listed here has a different model number then the old one. The old one was 31535

I've had to use the warranty maybe about 3 times in 10 yrs. Most of the time, I call their phone number and give them the product number on the tool and my address and they mail me a new one within a week. There was one time I tried going to Sears to get it exchanged, but my local sears people are worthless so it becomes more of a hassle. For example, if you have one broken wrench out of a set of 7, they want you to bring all 7 back to the store so they can give you a brand new set of 7 wrenches instead of just exchanging the one. i gave up on them and just called Gearwrench and a new one was in the mail a week later.

the new one is listed as "New Item" so I would guess that the new part number is either sourced from a different factory and or had its specification changed a little bit. for example, there was and old and new number for the rotary ratchet set and i noticed the new set weighed a few ounces less than the old one so fairly certain they either changed supplier or specifications; it was not being made by the same process.

i see.. thanks for sharing. i have a toyota as well that i repair every now and then, but i don't need to work on it as much as i do my european cars so I guess I never noticed what size bolts/nuts my toyota has...

which i guess means that you're better off staying with the reliable japanese imports... LOL

Embarrassment Awesome! But why oh why do they make the MM quad box end with 12x13 and not 12x14!!!!!
I was thinking the same thing. Would have been perfect with the 14 instead of 13

i totally agree... but surprisingly, i still get a lot of Gearwrench stuff that is still made in Taiwan... at least you still have the lifetime warranty so you can exchange it if there's a problem.
