I was actually thinking of maybe getting a PO box online for a PA city and then fill out a forwarding address but you have to go in to give them 2 forms of ID. Looks like there might not be a way around this one. Dang

Two questions:
1st: Is it just a one time direct deposit. In other words could I have my dad direct deposit me some money from his bank account to mine once and that would qualify?
2nd: If I setup automatic payment for my credit card for three months would this qualify for the three bill payments?

1 - If the ACH transfer from another account would satisfy the requirement then yes, you should be fine with that one time transfer.
2 - you have to pay 3 bills in 60 days, so you would have to time it pretty well if you only have this one bill to pay. Alternatively, you could set it up to pay a "bill" to your dad, which he could transfer back to you through the online transfer. However, you would likely need to send it to a different address than the one on the account.

I should have waited, I got in on the the regular Kindle from them from the deal earlier this year.

Ahh ok. I have a couple credit cards, so I guess I could do a bill pay to three of them. Thanks for your help!!!!!

Can anyone confirm that got in on this from the last time that this deal was running that they were able to satisfy the direct deposit requirement by transferring funds from another bank account?

The fine print on the deal page states:
"The direct deposit requirement is limited to Social Security, pension or payroll and must be completed within 60 days of account opening."

yes, you can open a new account and get the promotion even if you have another account, you need to bring new money in and have to satisfy the terms of the offer to qualify.

I just got off the phone with them and they said there is a 6-8 week waiting period after you meet the criteria. She also let me know that if I end up moving out of state that I can change my address and get it shipped to where I actually live
But to open an account I need to either go in there or have them send me paper work. Not going to work with a fake address.

I suspect they are going to have lots of accounts being opened and not a whole lot of Kindles being shipping.
