I need some help in getting some information on what components I should buy to build a few PCs for small business use. I am also going to add that this is also my first ever build. I have never built a computer but I'm confident that I can put it together.
What I need:
(4) Computers for small business purposes
Be able to run programs like Quickbooks and Proseries
What I don't need:
No fancy graphics
No video/photo editing
Basically I want to be able to run tax and accounting software, Internet, email, word processing software. Pretty basic stuff.
I want to spend the least possible but need these computers to be dependable.
$342 or less total. You could save a few bucks by going with a G530/G640 or similar CPU which are still great performers. The SSD will give this computer far better performance than any pre-build you'd find at this price.
You'd want to have backed up storage on the network to help ensure that important company data doesn't get lost.
They sell refurb PCs and laptops pulled usually from medium and large business environments. Some prices can be really freakishly low but these are older model PCs and laptops that will do what you want it to do but not much more in regards to frills. However you can upgrade components (more so for desktops) if you want more umph.
For business use and low hardware requirement I'd go with pre-built from Dell/HP/IBM business solution. You will need a thoroughly tested computers for high reliability with on-site repair to minimize the down time if any of them require services.
Unless you get paid for repair/services afterwards.
Otherwise $250 / computer (including a monitor and the peripherals) is a good budget with quality parts.
I agree what people are saying here about buying premade. The dell outlet is a great place to save some money on pretty much new systems. Aim for about 3-4gb of ram. The optiplex line would be worth some extra money in my opinion since they are built better. .
Thank you so much for the help guys! It has been really helpful I really wanted to see if I could see if I could save myself some money by building them myself but its seems the per built systems is the way to go. I really appreciate everyone's help.
