Of course, we'd have to increase welfare and other entitlements so that the poor could still drive their older gas guzzlers. |

Based upon the brilliant business model of Panera Cares (http://paneracares.org/), we can have new gas stations called Obama Cares..... drive up, fill up the gas tank, and then put your money in the bucket according to how much you think you should be charged. Elmer, this could have been a game-changing, game-winning idea for your company. I'm disappointed that you didn't think of it first. The truth: Management at IRS can blame themselves and how they have chaotic and poor management, but God-forbid you, or I, or anybody else in America gets audited and doesn't have their ducks in order and s***-together, your ass is going to court or jail.
Shout out to Congressman Mike Kelly for stating it as it is... Link [realclearpolitics.com] |

The customer would prepay us at the retail price, and than later, when it was convenient for us, we would provide the services we thought were appropriate, often less than agreed on, and sometimes no services at all. We of course kept the full prepayment. Wasn't that successful for us, but perhaps it was just ahead of it's time. |

It will only get worse for California. They need to build more plants to refine the gasoline. Sadly, that will probably never happen. Good thing they have those electric cars coming...
http://www.plugincars.com/califor...11799.html "Many environmentalists and electric car fans cheered last week when California adopted new rules that require 15 percent of all cars sold in the state to be electric, plug-in hybrid, or hydrogen-powered by 2025. Even automakers were onboard. But the devil is in the details, and some plug-in car advocates believe the California Air Resources Board simultaneously engineered a positive spin on the rules—while creating a giant loophole allowing more modest gains in electric car adoption. “Unfortunately, the California Air Resources Board, and particularly CARB chairwoman Mary Nichols controlled the spin battle on this one,” said Jay Friedland, legislative director for Plug In America, an electric car advocacy group. Friedland is referring to a so-called “greenhouse gas overcompliance provision,” which allows automakers to only produce about half the number of required pure electric cars it needs to produce between 2018 and 2021 under the new rule—in exchange for reducing the carbon emissions from its entire fleet by 2-gram-per-mile beyond targets." |

Gas is still way too expensive here in Southern California. Any time gas is over $4.50 you got to figure that you are getting ripped off. I am just thankful it's gone down that far, as on Friday we were paying $4.95 a gallon. We have a very fuel efficient car (Toyota Corolla) compared to an SUV, van, pick up truck, etc, but we were still paying $38 to fill up when the tank was already a little over half full. Less than a month ago, a $20 would fill the tank once a week when the tank was already a little over half full. $18 might not seem like a big difference, but when you are putting that in a car twice a week, it adds up fast.

What we need is to muster the political will to impose the free market on California's oil industry.
